Armoury Games Painting Day!

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, Ryan here! I just wanted to take a moment to let you know of my first event coming up. Armoury Games will be hosting a painting day next Saturday, June 12th starting at 1pm!

I know many of us have miniatures we’ve been putting off painting, so why not bring them in and work on them together? Painting days are an excellent opportunity to jump start your own armies, share tips with others, and receive advice on your own work. I will be on hand to answer any questions regarding miniature painting or modeling you may have, as well as working on several of my own Warmachine models.

Water pots will be provided, but I do ask that you please provide your own paints, brushes, and palettes as I simply do not have enough to go around. Bruce has also asked that any miniatures you are planning on painting be primered before you bring them in on the 12th to prevent any issues involving the weather and congregating behind the building.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or Bruce. I look forward to seeing all that can make it out on the 12th!

Painting Contest Winners

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

The painting contest was a rousing success.  We had eight great submissions and the judging was tough.  A panel of independent judges deliberated at length to decide the winners and in the end still ended up with a tie for first place. So, without further ado, the winners are. . .

  • Tied for 1st & 2nd – Ryan Navratil’s Trollblood Impaler & Adam Matthews’ Normans
  • 3rd place goes to Mark Guirreri’s Throne of Power
  • 4th place goes to Chris O’Reilly’s Squat
  • A hearty thanks to our other contestants: Alan Hoch, Anthony Rogers, Will Dupree and Larry Curtiss.

All the painting on these models are suberb!

Look for more painting contests in the future.

Smithy gravatarSo who out there wants to have some fun paintin’? Well, anyone who is up to the challenge should join the Armoury Games painting contest. You can paint any miniature, any size, any number of figures from a single model to a whole unit, a tank or monster, or you can construct a diorama. Or maybe you’ve got that masterpiece mini that you painted some time ago just laying around needin’ to be appreciated. Whatever the case, you can’t wait too long, because the deadline to turn in your entry is August 1st. The models will be on display at the store through the 15th when the winner(s) will be announced.

We’ll showcase some of the entries right here, so keep watching this space.

Go and read the complete guidelines and get started right away.

Good painter, bad painter, or anything in between, there’s no excuse, get in the fun and get your model into Armoury Games.
